Passport protection case with shielding made of CRYPTALLOY material placed in the walls of the case. The case can accommodate biometric passports issued in the Czech Republic, the USA and other countries.
Want to make sure that even if you carry a new biometric passport with RFID chip, you will be invisible to potential electronic identity thieves and other intrepid criminals? Do you want to protect your privacy as much as possible? Or do you want to protect your passport so that the chip doesn't accidentally get damaged in a stronger electromagnetic field? If so, this passport security cover is exactly what you need.
Biometric or more generally "electronic" passports, sometimes also referred to as e-passport, ePassport or bioPassport, have been issued in the Czech Republic since 1 September 2006. These passports have many advantages, but also some disadvantages and risks. These are usually related to the use of contactless data transmission technology (RFID). It is very easy to remotely detect the existence of a passive RFID chip without having to communicate with it. This can be used, for example, by a thief to detect that there is an RFID in someone's handbag and target that particular handbag. Furthermore, even without access to the data on the chip, some information about the chip itself can be found out.
For example, anticollision algorithms allow us to find out the chip number before we even start interacting with the chip. Similarly, some non-standard error return codes can be used to determine the manufacturer or type of chip, and thus presumably the country issuing the passport. Such information can then be exploited, for example, by terrorists to construct a bomb that will activate itself if a person with a passport issued by a particular country or a particular set of countries is in the vicinity. Or it is potentially possible to track a specific person carrying a passport based on the chip number. Both of these risks can be eliminated by using this special security cover, which works on the principle of the so-called Faraday cage. It is then not possible to detect the chip or communicate with it in any way until the passport is removed from the packaging.
