The Fenix HL45R zoom rechargeable headlamp delivers up to 1000 lumens (ANSI) and a range of up to 220 meters and features contactless on/off. The Gesture-sensing feature allows you to turn the light off and on by waving your hand in front of the headlamp (the feature can be deactivated). So you can keep headlamp free of mud, oils and whatever you have on your hands while working and the flashlight stays clean at all times. Power is provided by a Li-Ion battery with a 1900 mAh capacity, which is charged via the USB-C connector directly in the headlamp. The battery can be removed and replaced with three regular AAA batteries in an emergency (they cannot be charged in the headlamp). The light source is a modern LED Luminus SFT-25R, its light is directed by special TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optics with the possibility of adjusting the width of the light cone (zoom function). In addition, it also has a red LED OSRAM GR QSSPA1.23, which achieves up to 130 lumens.
A total of 8 power modes are available, including a red flash mode for emergency situations. Despite the adjustable optics, the headlamp retains waterproof according to IP66 standard, so it can withstand heavy rain without problems. The headlamp strap is equipped with reflective elements that ensure good omnidirectional visibility when moving on the road. Its features make the Fenix HL45R headlamp suitable for work use, hiking, search and rescue, as well as a headlamp for running, camping, fishing and other activities.
All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproof, range and shockproof) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Using the headlamp
There may be an insulating cap on the battery pack from the factory. Remove it before first use.
Turn on, turn off and switch modes - When the rotary switch is in the locked position, the headlamp will turn on by flipping the switch. In the second position it turns on in white light mode, turning it to the third position turns it on in red light mode. The power modes in each position are cycled by pressing a button on the side of the rotary switch. Holding the button for 0.5 seconds turns the headlamp off. If the headlamp is unlocked and switched off with the side button, it will turn on again by holding the side button for 0.5 seconds.
Gesture control of the headlamp - When the headlamp is on and the gesture sensing function is activated, wave your hand within the sensing range in front of the headlamp to temporarily turn it off and another wave of your hand to turn it back on. *When the headlamp is on and the gesture sensing function is activated, hold the side electronic switch for 0.5 seconds to turn the lamp off. After this action, it will not respond to any motion operation.
Turn on and off the gesture sensing function - To turn on the function, press and hold the electronic switch for 6 seconds, the headlamp will flash red twice, indicating that the function is enabled. To turn the feature off, hold the side switch again for 6 seconds, the headlamp will flash red eight times, indicating the feature is disabled.
Note on gesture sensing function:
- The sensing range is approximately 10 cm in front of the headlamp and may vary slightly depending on the material and color of the subject, ambient light, the brightness of the selected output, and the speed of the wave.
- If there are other objects in front of the headlamp within the sensing range, the lamp may also turn on or off.
- The gesture sensing feature only controls the turning on and off of the light and does not change modes.
- When the gesture sensing function is activated, waving your hand will only turn the light off temporarily. At this moment the headlamp is in standby state with low power consumption. If there is no activity for more than two hours, the headlamp will automatically switch off from standby and then cannot be switched on with a wave of the hand. To turn on, press and hold the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds or flip the switch.
Memory for last power mode set - If the headlamp has been turned off with the side switch, it has memory and will turn on in the last power mode set. Except for the max. white light mode, it will turn on in the second highest mode instead.
Battery charge status indication - A short press of the button (the headlamp must be off) will activate the LED battery charge status indicator. Four lit LEDs indicate that the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40% and one flashing indicates that the battery is less than 20% charged. This feature is only available with the original ARB-LP1900 battery.
Charging
- Remove the dust cap and plug the USB Type-C charging cable into the charging port of the headlamp, after charging is complete, put the dust cap back on to ensure waterproof and dustproof.
- Four indicators flash from left to right during charging, four permanently on indicates charging is complete.
- Charging time is 3 hours with a 5V/1A USB adapter for a fully discharged headlamp.
- During charging, the headlamp can only be used in low mode.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, it will violate the warranty.
- Use only original Li-ion ARB-LP1900 battery, if using disposable AAA batteries, do not try to charge them in the headlamp.
- If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is dead – charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the headlamp are dirty – clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
Warranty
Five years warranty on the headlamp and two years on the battery.
