Using of the Fenix PD36 TAC
The rotary switch on the tail of the flashlight allows you to choose between light modes that have different controls.
Tactical mode (rotary control in left position): press the tactical button on the end of the flashlight to turn on, press the button halfway to activate immediately. The flashlight will always activate in the highest mode. To activate the strobe, hold the button down for 0.8 seconds (even from off state). Pressing the button returns the flashlight to its original mode. Pressing the button turns the flashlight off.
Service Mode (rotary control in right position): Press the tactical button on the end of the flashlight to turn on, press the button to activate immediately. The flashlight remembers the last selected mode (except strobe). The light modes (except strobe) can be cycled by pressing the button. To activate the strobe, hold the button for 0.8 seconds (even from the off state). Pressing the button returns the flashlight to its original mode. Pressing the button turns the flashlight off.
In the middle position of the rotary control, the lock control button can be activated. If the flashlight is turned off, it cannot be turned on. If it is on, the control will be locked in the currently set light mode and the control button will not respond. To reactivate the tactical button, the control must be turned to tactical or service mode. When using the wired switch, only the highest constant light mode is available.
Intelligent overheat protection - if the temperature of the flashlight exceeds 60°C, then it will reduce power by itself in incremental steps until the temperature drops below a safe limit. After cooling below 60°C, full power can be used again.
Discharged Battery Warning - the flashlight automatically switches to the lowest power level and flashes 3 times every five minutes.
Charging - Remove the battery from the flashlight and plug it into the side USB-C connector using the USB cable. During charging, the indicator light in the plus pole of the battery is red. When the battery reaches full charge, it glows blue or green. The charging currents of the built-in USB-C connector are 2A. Charging time takes approximately 3-4 hours.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the head of the flashlight yourself, it will violate the warranty.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent erosion of the rubber. By following these rules, the flashlight will be properly protected against water.
- If the flashlight is flickering, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is dead, charge it.
- The contacts inside the flashlight are clogged – clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
- Back of the flashlight is loose, tighten it.
Warranty
Five years warranty on the flashlight, two years on the battery.
