Using the Fenix PD40R V3.0 fashlight
From manufacture, there may be an insulating cap on the battery inside the flashlight, please remove it before first use.
To switch on, turn the control ring to the right. To change modes, turn the control ring (to increase power to the right, to decrease power to the left). In the far right position is the strobe and one position ahead of it is the SOS. To turn the flashlight off, turn the ring to the leftmost position.
Intelligent overheat protection - if the temperature of the flashlight rises above 60°C, it will automatically start to reduce the power in gradual steps, once the temperature of the flashlight drops below 60°C, the highest power can be used again.
Battery charge status indicator - every time you turn on the light, the indicator LED next to the charging connector is activated for three seconds. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is more than 85% charged. Green flashing means 50-85% capacity. If it is red, it is 25-50% charged. Red flashing indicates less than 25% of the battery capacity is remaining.
Charging - flip off the rubber cap of the charging connector on the side of the flashlight and plug in the included cable (USB-C connector), plug the other end of the cable into your computer or a USB adapter to your mains or car. During charging, the indicator next to the charging connector lights up red. When fully charged, it will light up green. Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 3 hours (with a 2A power supply). During charging, the flashlight can be used in 30 and 350 lumen modes.
Discharged battery warning - the flashlight automatically switches to the lowest mode and the indicator LED on the side starts flashing red.

- The battery is dead, charge it.
- The contacts inside the flashlight are clogged – clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
- The back of the flashlight is loose, tighten it.
