The Fenix HM65R-T V2.0 rechargeable headlamp features lightweight magnesium alloy construction, high water and shock resistance, unique dual reflector design and light output of up to 1600 lumens. The reflectors produce well-focused light beams that shine far and near at the same time. The main reflector has with a cool white light of approx. 6500K (daylight white) and the secondary reflector has with a warm white light with a shade of approx. 3000K (the cones cannot be combined, however). The warm light penetrates fog, rain and snow better, so you can use it especially in bad weather conditions.
The main reflector offers 3 lighting modes and a maximum lumen output of up to 1600 lumens, the second reflector offers a maximum output of 800 lumens and you can choose from four lighting modes. The headlamp also has an SOS mode and a whistle integrated on the strap for emergency situations. Power is supplied by a single Li-Ion battery type 18650 with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which is included in the package and is charged via a modern USB-C connector directly in the headlamp. In the event of an emergency, the headlamp can also be powered by two disposable CR123A batteries.
Like other Fenix trail headlamps, the HM65R-T V2.0 features a wide strap with Sport Fit System with one wheel for easy strap length adjustment. On your head, you can quickly and comfortably tighten the headband with one hand. The strap is also perforated and equipped with reflective elements to ensure good passive visibility. Compared to the first-generation HM65R-T, the new model features cutouts for easy strap removal, so the headlamp can be easily used on sports, work and tactical helmets using Fenix ALG-03 and ALG-04 mounts. The headlamp's lighter weight and design make it particularly interesting for trail running, cycling and skiing. It is also suitable for other sports activities (hiking, climbing, camping, fishing...). Guaranteed to serve you well in every situation!
All parameters of the headlamp (output, battery life, waterproofness, range and shock resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.
Fenix HM65R-T V2.0 won the RedDot Award 2024.

Using the headlamp
There may be an insulating cap on the battery from the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.
The main headlamp is switched on by holding the right button (approx. 0.5s), the headlamp with warm tinted light is switched on by holding the left button (0.5s). The headlamp is always switched on in the lowest power mode. The light functions are switched by briefly pressing the corresponding button. Both reflectors cannot be switched on at the same time, but can be switched between them by pressing the corresponding button. SOS mode is activated by holding any switch for at least 1.2 seconds.
Battery charge indication - When any button is pressed briefly (the headlamp must be off), the LED battery charge indicator between the buttons is activated. Four lit LEDs indicate the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40% and one flashing LED indicates the battery is less than 20% charged.
Control buttons can be locked to prevent spontaneous switching on, e.g. when transporting in luggage - in the off state, press both buttons and hold for min. 3 seconds, then the headlamp will flash to indicate locking. To unlock, hold both buttons again for three seconds.
Overheat protection - If the temperature of the headlamp exceeds 60°C, it will automatically start to reduce power in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. Once the temperature drops below 60°C it can be switched to higher power modes again.
Discharged battery warning - when the voltage drops below a certain threshold, it will automatically switch to lower power mode, if the battery status indicator starts flashing during the light, the battery is almost dead.
Charging - Flip off the USB-C port cap and plug in the included charging cable, plug the other end of the cable into a computer, power bank or USB mains or car adapter (not included). During charging, status LEDs show the charging progress. When charging is complete, all four are lit. It takes approximately 3 hours to charge a fully discharged battery. During charging, the headlamp can only be used in low main or warm spotlight mode.
Using the Sport Fit System headband - Turn the dial counterclockwise to tighten the strap. Turn the dial clockwise to loosen the strap. Further rotation of the wheel after the strap has been loosened as far as possible will start to tighten the strap again, reversing the direction of loosening and tightening.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the headlamp yourself, it will violate the warranty.
- Use only high quality Li-ion 18650 batteries, if using disposable CR123A batteries, do not try to charge them in the headlamp.
- If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is dead – charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the headlamp are dirty – clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
Warranty
Five years warranty on the headlamp and two years on the battery.
