Using the Fenix TK20R UE flashlight
From the factory, there may be an insulating cap inside the flashlight on the battery. Remove it from the battery pack before first use.
Press the tactical button on the end of the flashlight to turn it on, press lightly on the button for immediate activation. Use the FlexiSensa control toggle lever on the end of the flashlight to select between tactical and duty modes and to lock the flashlight.
Duty Mode - the flashlight turns on in the last selected lighting mode, the four power modes can be cycled by pressing the button.
Tactical Mode - the flashlight turns on in the last selected light mode, strobe and highest output of 2800 lumens are available. Press the button to switch between modes.
Lock - the third position on the rotary dial locks the flashlight and cannot be switched on - useful for example when transporting in luggage. The flashlight can be locked in the off and on state, locking also turns the flashlight off. Unlocking also switches the flashlight on in the last used mode of the respective mode.
Intelligent overheat protection - Due to the flashlight's huge 2800 lumens output, it does experience a temperature rise. If the temperature exceeds 60°C, an automatic power reduction occurs. Once the temperature drops below 60°C, the highest power output can be used again.
Battery charge status indication - The charge indicator is hidden under the protective nut of the charging connector for tactical reasons, so the nut must be unscrewed to check it. The flashlight always indicates the battery charge status three seconds after switching on. Green indicates a sufficient state of charge (100% - 85%), green flashing (85% - 50%), steady red (50% - 25%), and flashing red indicates a critically low battery (25% - 1%). If the battery is low, the flashlight will automatically switch to lower power modes, then flash 3 times every five minutes in the lowest mode.
Charging the flashlight - Unscrew the protective nut under the head of the flashlight and use the included USB-C cable to plug it into a computer, network USB adapter or USB car adapter (not included). Alternatively, any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can be used for charging. During charging, the indicator LED opposite the charging connector glows red, after a full charge it glows green. Charging a fully discharged battery takes about 3.5 hours. The Li-ion battery used does not suffer from a memory effect, so the flashlight can be recharged at any time. The flashlight cannot be switched on while charging.
Warning
- Use only high-quality 21700 Li-ion batteries to prevent damage to the flashlight, for example due to leakage of substances from the battery.
- Insert the batteries with the positive pole towards the flashlight head.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent erosion of the rubber. By following these rules, the flashlight will be properly protected against water.
- If the flashlight is flickering, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost dead – charge it.
- The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty – clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
- The back of the flashlight is loose, tighten it.
