The special Keeppower RCR123A 3V 1000 mAh battery is equipped with regulating electronics that limit the output voltage to approximately 3.0 V. This battery acts as a replacement for disposable CR123A batteries in devices that cannot tolerate the higher voltage of conventional Li-ion RCR123A batteries with nominal voltage of 3.6 or 3.7 V (up to 4.2 V when fully charged). However, this battery is approximately 1 mm longer than disposable CR123A batteries, so it may not fit all devices. We especially recommend it for the Fenix HL50 headlamp. The battery also has proven compatibility in older Fenix P2D, SureFire P2X Fury, Surefire G2, Surefire 6P, Surefire EDCL1-T, Streamlight Protac 90X, Novatac 120p, Ledlenser F1 flashlights.
The battery is not suitable for operation in, for example, Fenix HM50R and HM50R V2.0 headlamps, Fenix HM51R and HM51R V2.0 headlamps, or Fenix E16, E18R and other flashlights that support normal RCR123A Li-ion batteries. These flashlights will run on lower power with it.
The battery is charged only via the built-in USB-C connector, so it can be charged from e.g. a computer, a mobile phone charger, a powerbank or other USB source. It cannot be charged in a conventional Li-ion charger or rechargeable flashlight or headlamp.
When using this battery, please note that you cannot tell the remaining capacity by the output voltage. Thus, the instruments may indicate full battery capacity throughout operation, but then the batteries will suddenly shut down. When the battery is discharged, its voltage suddenly drops from 3.0 V to 0 V.
