The Fenix ARB-L14-1600U rechargeable battery serves as a replacement for classic AA batteries. Inside, it is a Li-ion cell that is equipped with regulating electronics that maintains a solid output voltage of 1.5 V during discharge. The battery is therefore particularly suitable for devices that are sensitive to voltage levels and, for example, do not work properly with rechargeable NiMHs or only for a short period of time. The capacity of the battery is 1600 mAh (2.4 Wh which corresponds to a capacity of 2000 mAh for NiMH).
The battery is charged only via the built-in micro-USB connector, so it can be charged e.g. from a computer, mobile phone charger, power bank or other USB source. It cannot be charged in a conventional charger.
Tip: to charge multiple batteries at once, you may want to buy a square micro-USB charging cable.
The battery also has built-in protection against complete discharge and short circuit (maximum continuous discharge current is about 1.6 A). The battery is therefore suitable for example for cameras, navigation, laboratory instruments and other devices. The battery is also compatible with headlamps and flashlights Fenix HL23, HL50, E12, E20, LD12, LD22. Not compatible with Fenix HM23, LD41 and LD42 (too high current draw in highest mode).
When using this battery, it should be taken into consideration that you cannot tell the remaining capacity by the output voltage. Thus, the instruments may indicate full battery capacity throughout operation, but then the batteries will suddenly shut down. When the battery is discharged, its voltage suddenly drops from 1.5 V to 0 V.
Battery parameters
- Nominal voltage: 1.5 V (the battery keeps it constant until discharged)
- Capacity : 1600 mAh (2.4 Wh)
- Maximum current draw : 1.6 A (higher current will cause the short circuit protection to intervene)
- Charging via built-in micro-USB input. Charging current: 300 mA.
- Charging time for a fully discharged battery is about 2.5 hours.
- Protective electronics built-in at the plus pole provide protection against overcharging, complete discharge and short circuit.
- Lifetime of 500 charge cycles
- Diameter : 14.5 mm (+/- 0.2 mm)
- Height : 50 mm (+/- 0.2 mm)
- Weight : 19 grams.
Charging via micro-USB connector
Plug the USB cable into the side micro-USB connector, the indicator light on the top of the battery is red during charging. When the battery reaches full charge, it glows blue.
Warning
- Cannot be charged in conventional chargers
- Do not short-circuit the battery (do not connect the cell poles with a wire)
- Do not throw the battery into fire or water
- When using the battery, observe safety guidelines
Warranty
