Fenix HM71R is a high-performance rechargeable headlamp that offers a luminous flux up to 2700 lumens (ANSI). The headlamp is fitted with two light sources, the long-distance reflector contains a Luminus SFT-70 LED, which shines up to a distance of 230 meters. The second wide reflector is fitted with a Luminus SST-20 LED with neutral white lightand a high color rendering quality index CRI 90 (Color Rendering Index) 500 lumens strong>, which has a very wide and smooth light trail. It is powered by one rechargeable Li-ion battery type 21700 with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which is charged directly in the headlight via USB-C connector. In the control button has a built-in indicator LED, thanks to which you will always know when to recharge the battery. The end of the torch is magnetic, so it can be easily attached to anything iron. The flashlight is powered by a digitally controlled constant current to guarantee constant light output even when the voltage in the batteries is reduced (while they are slowly discharging).
The all-metal construction ensures high resistance, optimal cooling and at the same time it is fully waterproof according to the IP68 standard up to a depth of 2 meters under water. The resistance is further enhanced by the stainless steel protective cover around the reflectors. The practicality of the headlamp increases the possibility of removing the light from the head holder and using it as a pocket or work lamp. In addition, the headlamp is equipped with a removable steel clip, so you can easily attach it to a pocket or strap. The Fenix HM71R multifunctional flashlight will be appreciated by speleologists, mountain guides, ski alpinists, climbers, cyclists, rescuers, mountain service, but also repairmen and workers in industrial sectors and ordinary tourists or fishermen.
All parameters of the flashlight (luminous flux, battery operation time, waterproofing, afterglow and impact resistance) are measured in compliance with the ANSI/ NEMA FL 1-2009.
Fenix HM71R rechargeable headlamp parameters

Usage
From the factory, there may be an insulating cap inside the flashlight on the battery. Before first use, remove it from the battery.
- When the headlamp is turned off, it turns on to the last used high beam mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds (with except for shutdown in the highest mode, then next time it will turn on in the second highest mode).
- When the headlamp is off, it turns on to the lowest mode (5 lumens) of the wide reflector with a double quick press of the button.
- The headlamp is turned off by holding down the button for 0.5 seconds.
- When the headlamp is on, you can switch between the high and wide reflectors by holding down the button for 1.2 seconds. It is not possible to start both spotlights at the same time.
If the headlamp is on, short presses of the button can cyclically switch power modes in the order of 50 - 200 - 800 - 2700 lumens (when the spotlight is switched on) or 5 - 50 - 200 - 500 lumens (when switching on the wide reflector). The flashlight has a memory for the spotlight and always turns on in the last set mode (except when it turns off in the highest mode, then next time it turns on in the second highest mode). For a wide reflector, it always starts in the lowest mode.
Battery charge status indication: After a short press of the button (headlight must be switched off), the LED indicator in the button is activated. If the indicator diode is green, the battery is charged to more than 80%. Green flashing means 50-80% capacity. If it glows red, it is 20-50% charged. Red flashing means less than 20% battery capacity is left.
Locking the headlamp against accidental switching on: Loosen the battery cap of the headlamp by a quarter turn, this will break the electrical contact and the headlamp cannot be switched on. The button can also be locked electronically – with the headlamp off, hold down the button for 3 seconds. After locking, the flashlight will flash four times. To unlock, hold the button for 3 seconds again.
Protection against overheating: If the temperature of the headlamp exceeds 65°C, it will automatically reduce the power in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. As soon as the temperature drops below 65°C, it is possible to use the highest performance modes again.
Discharged battery warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to lower power modes. If the headlamp is already switched to the lowest power mode and the battery is critically discharged, the indicator in the button will start flashing red. However, the headlamp will continue to shine until the battery is completely discharged.
Charging
Plug the charging cable into the USB connector of the computer, the USB adapter in the network or in the car. Unfold the rubber cap on the headlamp and plug the cable into the charging USB-C port. During charging, the indicator light in the button lights up red, when charging is complete, it lights up green. The headlamp can be used in the lowest high beam mode while charging, but the charging time will be adequately extended. Charging a fully discharged Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery takes about 4 hours (using a 5V/2A power source).
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed part in the head of the lamp yourself, this will void the warranty.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings must also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the lamp will be properly protected against water.
- If the flashlight flickers, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost empty – charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the lamp are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- The back of the lamp is loose – tighten it.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the flashlight, two-year warranty on the battery.
