The second generation of the extremely powerful Fenix HP30R V2.0 rechargeable headlamp offers an unrivaled output up to 3000 lumens (ANSI) and a 270 meter afterglow. Excellent performance was achieved by using the powerful XHP50 LED and a pair of XP-G3 S4 LEDs with a warmer shade of light. The headlamp is equipped with a spotlight and a pair of smaller reflectors with a wide cone of light. Both reflectors are controlled separately or it is possible to turn them on at the same time in combined mode. For power, it uses two Li-ion batteries of the type 21700 5000 mAh, which are included in the package and can be recharged directly in the battery case via the USB-C connector.
The batteries are located in a separate case on an adjustable cable that can be worn on the back of the neck, placed on a belt, in a pocket or backpack. This increases wearing comfort and in winter the batteries are better protected against frost. The battery case is equipped with a battery capacity indicator and a USB output, so you can also use it as a portable power source (powerbank) to charge your mobile phone or GPS navigation.
The headlamp offers a total of 11 performance modes. In the lowest mode with 50 lumens, it provides an excellent endurance up to 120 hours (that is, 5 days). The headlamp is powered by a digitally regulated constant current to guarantee constant light output even when the voltage in the batteries are reduced (while they are slowly discharging). HP30R V2.0 is especially suitable for cross-country skiing, ski mountaineering, night running, cycling, fishing, caving and other activities.
The body of the headlamp is made of an aluminum alloy used in the aircraft industry. This ensures excellent cooling and resistance to damage.
All parameters of the headlamp (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofing, range and impact resistance) are measured in compliance with the ANSI/ NEMA FL 1-2009.
Fenix HP30R V2.0 headlamp parameters
- Powerful LED XHP50 and LED XP-G3 S4 with a warmer shade of light with lifetime of 50,000 hours are used.
- Eleven lighting modes:
-
- Spotlight : 2000 lumens (6 hours) -> 800 lumens (12 hours) -> 200 lumens (34 hours) -> 50 lumens (120 hours)
- Floodlight: 1000 lumens (10 hours) -> 200 lumens (34 hours) -> 50 lumens (120 hours)
- Combined mode: 3000 lumens (5 hours) -> 1800 lumens (6 hours) -> 400 lumens (17 hours) -> 100 lumens (60 hours)
- The spotlight and the floodlight can be turned on at the same time, the modes can be combined as desired and thus achieve a total output of up to 3000 lumens.
- Runimes are measured with rechargeable Li-ion 21700 batteries with a capacity of 5000 mAh.
- Combined mode creates a beam of light with a 270 meter (17933 cd) range, the high beam reflector shines up to 251 meters (15733 cd) and the wide reflector shines up to 78 meters (1513 cd).
- Digitally regulated for constant light output.
- Intelligent protection against overheating.
- For power, it uses two rechargeable batteries 21700 with a capacity of 5000 mAh (included in the package), if necessary, you can also use two 18650 when using reductions ALF-18 .
- The batteries are placed in a separate case that can be placed on the back of the head, on a belt, in a pocket or backpack.
- The batteries are charged directly in the battery case via the USB-C connector.
- Powerbank function - USB output for charging USB devices.
- The battery case is equipped with a battery status indicator.
- It is possible to tilt the headlamp in a few steps and thus set the desired lighting direction.
- The body of the headlamp is made of an aluminum alloy used in the aircraft industry.
- Impact resistant to drops from a height of 1 meter.
- Weight 437 grams (including straps and stainless steel belt carrier and batteries).
- Headlamp dimensions: 9.2 cm x 5.6 cm x 4.4 cm
- Dimensions of the battery case: 10.7 cm x 5.0 cm x 4.1 cm
- Dustproof and waterproof according to the IP66 standard (spraying with strong streams of water from all directions).
- Toughened ultra clear glass lens with anti-reflective surface.
- The package includes a headlamp, two Fenix 21700 5000 mAh batteries, a stainless steel carrier for attaching the battery case to the belt, 3 plastic clips for attaching the cable to the head strap, 4 holders for attaching the head strap to the helmet, an extension cable for the battery case , USB-C charging cable and spare o ring.
- A Fenix APB-30 case can be purchased with the headlamp, or a USB power adapter and USB car adapter.
Using the Fenix HP30R V2.0 headlamp
From manufacture, there may be a white insulating cap inside the battery case on the batteries. Before first use, remove it from the batteries.
Controls - the headlamp is controlled by a rotary switch. In its central position, the headlamp is off.
- Spotlight - to turn on the spotlight, turn the switch clockwise, the headlamp will turn on in the lowest power mode, and turn it further to increase the power to the highest mode. Turning backwards lowers the output modes.
- Floodlight - turning the switch counter-clockwise turns on two LEDs for a wide cone from the smallest to the highest mode, in the opposite direction the performance decreases.
- To activate the combined mode, it is necessary to turn on one of the main modes (long or wide) and shortly press the button on the side of the switch. The power of the combined mode then decreases or increases according to the originally selected circuit. The combined mode can be turned off partially by pressing the side button (turns off one of the circuits) or completely by turning it to the center position.
The length of the cable connecting the headlamp to the battery case can be increased using the extension cable that is included in the package. Connect and disconnect the connectors in a circular motion rotating them, do not pull them apart by force. After replacing the batteries, tighten the tightening screw on the battery case thoroughly to ensure good waterproofing.
Battery status indication - pressing the button on the battery case activates the battery capacity indicator (four lit LEDs 80 - 100%, three LEDs 60 - 80%, two LEDs 40 - 60%, one diode 20 - 40%, one flashing diode signals less than 20% of the remaining battery capacity).
Charging - unfold the rubber cover of the USB-C connector on the side of the headlamp and connect it to the computer using the included USB-C cable, USB network adapter or USB car adapter. Any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can also be used for charging. During charging, the indicator diodes on the battery case flash, after full charge they light up permanently. Charging fully discharged batteries takes about 4.5 hours.
To activate the USB output (powerbank function) - connect the device you want to charge and press the button on the battery case. The activation of the USB output is indicated by the blinking of the diodes on the case.
Intelligent protection against overheating - if the temperature of the headlamp head rises above 60°C, it will automatically reduce power until its temperature stabilizes. As soon as the temperature drops below 60°C, the power will automatically increase again. Operation at the highest performance modes is thus not limited by time, but only by temperature.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
- Use only high-quality Li-ion batteries to avoid damage to the headlamp, for example due to leakage of substances from the battery.
- If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
- Batteries are almost dead – charge them or replace them.
- Make sure the connector on the cable between the headlamp and the battery case is firmly connected.
- The contacts in the battery holder are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the headlamp and 2 years on the batteries.
