The powerful Fenix BC22R rechargeable cycling flashlight delivers up to 1400 lumens (ANSI) with throw of up to 156 meters. It is powered by a changeable 18650 Li-ion battery with 3400 mAh capacity, which is included in the package and charges via a USB-C connector directly in the flashlight. The light source is a modern Luminus SST-40 diode. The flashlight uses specially shaped optics that direct the light only forward and to the sides, not upwards. The light cone is therefore partially cut off from above and does not dazzle other drivers and pedestrians. At the same time, the optics used create a very wide light cone that continuously illuminates the entire area in front of the bicycle, so that it also shines in places that ordinary bicycle lights do not cover. The Fenix BC22R bicycle light is therefore not only suitable for use on roads and cycle paths, but also perfectly handles lighting on trails. The design of the holder allows quick mounting and dismounting of the light on the handlebars without tools, and the light can be quickly removed from the holder and used as a high-performance handheld light. The mount is compatible with handlebars from 22 to 32 millimeters in diameter.
The unique design allows the flashlight to be hung inverted (above and below the handlebars), leaving the light cone cut from above and still seeing the controls and indications on the flashlight. A GoPro mount reducer is included. The Fenix BC22R offers a total of five digitally controlled power modes with up to 41 hours of runtime, including flashing mode. Fenix cycling flashlights will provide you with quality lighting for night training, regular commutes and endurance races.
All flashlight parameters (lumen output, battery life, waterproofing and range) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.
Fenix BC22R bikelight specifications
- The powerful Luminus SST-40 LED with a 50,000 hour lifetime is used.
- Total of five power modes: 1400 lumens (2.3 hours*) -> 600 lumens (5.5 hours) -> 200 lumens (11 hours) -> 50 lumens (41 hours) -> flashing (pulsating between 50 and 200 lumens).
- One Li-ion battery type 18650 with a capacity of 3400 mAh (included) is used for power supply.
- * Prolonged use of the highest modes may cause the light to overheat and activate the intelligent overheat protection function, which automatically reduces the power output.
- Digital power control.
- Discharged battery warning, overcharge and full battery discharge protection.
- Specially shaped optics create a top-cut light cone combining broad peripheral illumination and a range of up to 156 meters (6100 cd).
- The flashlight attaches to the mount with a quick-release mechanism that allows it to be removed in an instant and reattached securely just as quickly.
- The bikelight can be hung inverted under the handlebars, e.g. on a GoPro mount, without having to turn it upside down.
- The rubberized construction of the holder sleeve ensures a firm and secure grip of the flashlight to the bike.
- Compatible with handlebar diameters from 22 to 32 millimeters.
- Memory for the last used mode set (except flashing mode).
- Made of A6061-T6 type aerospace hardened aluminum.
- Waterproof and dustproof to IP66 standard.
- Resistant to falls from a height of 1.5 meters.
- Light dimensions 11.5 cm x 2.9 cm x 3.4 cm.
- Light weight 157 g (including battery).
- Package contents: flashlight, universal handlebar mount, reducer for GoPro mounts, Fenix 18650 battery with 3400 mAh capacity, USB-C cable, spare sealing ring.
- The flashlight can be purchased with USB mains adapter and USB car adapter or USB adapter supporting fast charging.
Using the bikelight
From the factory, there may be an insulating cap inside the flashlight on the battery. Remove it from the battery pack before first use.
To turn on or off, hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds. The flashlight will always turn on in the last set mode (except for flashing), and you can switch to other power levels at any time during operation by pressing the button. To switch to flashing mode, hold the button for 1.2 seconds with the flashlight on.
Battery Capacity Indication - With the flashlight off, press the button once briefly, then the indicator LED in the button will light for three seconds. A green light or blinking indicates a battery charge of more than 50%, a red light or blinking indicates 50% or less. The Indication LED also illuminates when the flashlight is on, so the user is kept informed of the battery status while riding.
Discharged Battery Warning - If the battery capacity drops below a safe level, the cycling light will automatically switch to lower power modes to ensure the longest possible battery life (the flashlight cannot be switched to higher modes afterwards). If the battery is critically low, the button will flash red. In this case, we recommend charging the flashlight as soon as possible to prevent the protective electronics built into the battery from turning off and thus turning off the light.
Intelligent overheat protection - When using the flashlight on high power modes for long periods of time, a large amount of heat can accumulate. When the flashlight reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it will automatically reduce the power by several lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the output will gradually increase again.
Charging
- Unclip the rubber cap of the USB-C connector on the bottom of the flashlight and use the included USB cable to plug it into a computer, power bank, USB network adapter or USB car adapter.
- Button glows red while charging, glows green when fully charged.
- Charging time is about 3 hours depending on the power of the adapter used. The Li-ion battery does not suffer from memory effect, so the flashlight can be recharged at any time.
- During charging, the flashlight can be used in emergency, but only in two modes 50 and 200 lumens. The charging time is thus extended.
- After charging and removing the power cable, be sure to seal the USB-C connector cap.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the head of the flashlight yourself, it will violate the warranty.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after extended use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent erosion of the rubber. By following these rules, the flashlight will be properly protected against water.
- If the flashlight flickers, does not switch to higher modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost dead, charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty – clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
- Battery cap is loose, tighten it.
Warranty
Five years warranty on the flashlight, two years warranty on the battery.
