Keeppower 26650 7000 mAh rechargeable batteries are equipped with protection electronics, providing higher safety and longer lifespan. Li-ion rechargeable batteries are characterized by very high capacity, do not suffer from memory effect, and have no self-discharge. Li-ion batteries in the 26650 size are intended for older Fenix PD40, Fenix PD40R (first generation only!) and Fenix FD40 flashlights. Replaces Fenix ARB-L4-4500 and Fenix ARB-L4-4800 batteries.

The battery protection consists of internal safety mechanisms and protective electronics. Added electronic circuits prevent overcharging, over-discharging, short circuits, or excessive current draw. If the battery's electronics detect that limit values have been reached, it safely disconnects the cell.

Internal protection consists of a separator, state-of-the-art overheat protection (PTC - Positive Temperature Coefficient), and a special explosion-proof valve. If the gas pressure inside the cell exceeds a certain limit, the internal separator separates the electrodes inside the battery, de-facto interrupting the exothermic reaction, and the explosion-proof valve releases the excess gas pressure outside the battery. Thanks to the combination of electronic and mechanical (temperature and pressure) protection, these batteries are among the safest Li-ion batteries available.
