Fenix ARB-L16-800UP is a rechargeable Li-ion battery of size RCR123A (16340) with capacity of 800 mAh and own charging USB-C connector . It can be charged by connecting the cable to the USB-C connector (e.g. from a computer or mobile phone charger), in a classic charger as well as in charging lamps and headlamps. It is designed for high discharge current. It is therefore particularly suitable for devices with larger current consumption, e.g. Fenix E16 and E18R lamps. Li-ion technology gives one of the best ratios of the amount of stored energy to the weight of the cell. The batteries have no memory effect and self-discharge is minimal.

Battery protection can be divided into two areas. In the first, electronic circuits are added that prevent the cell from being overcharged (a situation where there is a risk of explosion in classic li-ion batteries) or, on the contrary, its excessive discharge (the battery would then not be able to be recharged). In addition, these circuits protect the battery against a short circuit or high current consumption, which could damage the battery. If the battery electronics evaluates reaching the limit values, it disconnects the cell. In the second there is protection against overheating (PTC thermal protection) and a special anti-explosion valve. Unlike other valves used in li-ion batteries, this one, when the gas pressure in the cell exceeds a certain limit, separates the electrodes inside the battery and thus de-facto interrupts the exothermic reaction and releases the excess gas pressure outside the battery. Thanks to the combination of electronic and mechanical (temperature and pressure) protection, Fenix batteries are among the safest Li-ion batteries available.

The size of the RCR123A accumulator corresponds to a disposable lithium CR123A battery, which is why it is often used in flashlights as a rechargeable alternative to these disposable cells. Check first whether your appliance supports this article because it has a higher nominal voltage than a disposable battery. These batteries can also be used, for example, in Fenix E15 XP-G2, E16, Fenix RC09, CL09, Fenix PD22 Ultimate Edition, LD15R , E18R, PD25R , GL06, GL22 , HM50R, HM51R .

CAUTION - do not use in Fenix E15 (does not apply to E15 XP-G2), PD10, PD12, PD20, PD22 (does not apply to Ultimate Edition) and HL50, there is a risk of damaging the electronics!

Due to the length of 35 mm, it may not fit older lamp models!

Charging

The battery can be charged:

• Via USB-C connector: Plug the USB cable into the side USB-C connector, the light on the top of the battery lights up red during charging. Lights up blue when fully charged. A completely discharged battery takes approx. 2 hours to charge.
• In a flashlight or headlamp: The battery can also be charged in rechargeable flashlights and headlamps. It can thus be used as a spare battery for headlamps HM50R V2.0, HM51R V2.0 and lamps E18R, LD15R, GL06, GL22.
