Rechargeable Battery Fenix ARB-L16-700UP (RCR123A, 16340) with self charging micro-USB connector. It can be charged by plugging the cable into the micro-USB connector (e.g. from a computer or mobile phone charger), in conventional charger and in rechargeable flashlights and headlamps. Compared to the ARB-L16-700U battery, it is designed for higher discharge current (up to 2.5 A). It is therefore particularly suitable for devices with larger current draw, such as the Fenix E16 and E18R flashlights. Li-ion technology gives one of the best ratios of the amount of stored energy to cell weight. The batteries have no memory effect and self-discharge is minimal.
Tip: to recharge multiple batteries at once, you may find it useful to purchase a square micro-USB charging cable.
Battery protection can be divided into two areas. In the first one, electronic circuits are added to prevent overcharging the cell (a situation where in classic li-ion batteries there is a risk of explosion) or, on the contrary, over-discharging it (the battery could not be recharged). In addition, these circuits protect the battery against short circuits or high current draw that could damage the battery. If the battery electronics assess that the limits have been reached, they will disconnect the cell. The second is the overheating protection ( PTC thermal protection ) and a special anti-blast valve. Unlike other valves used in Li-ion batteries, this one separates the electrodes inside the battery in case the gas pressure in the cell exceeds a certain limit, thus de-facto interrupting the exothermic reaction and releasing the excess gas pressure outside the battery. The combination of electronic and mechanical (temperature and pressure) protection makes Fenix batteries among the safest li-ion batteries available.
The RCR123A battery is the size of a disposable CR123A lithium battery, which is why it is often used in flashlights as a rechargeable alternative to these disposable cells. Check first if your appliance supports this cell as unlike a disposable battery it has a higher nominal voltage. These batteries can also be used in, for example, the Fenix E15 XP-G2, E16, E18R, PD25R, Fenix RC09, HM50R, HM51R, CL09, Fenix PD22 Ultimate Edition.
WARNING - Do not use in Fenix E15 (not applicable to E15 XP-G2), PD10, PD12, PD20, PD22 (not applicable to Ultimate Edition) and HL50, damage to electronics may occur!
Due to its 35.5mm length, it may not fit older flashlight models!

Charging
The battery can be charged:
- Through the micro-USB connector : Plug the USB cable into the side micro-USB connector, the indicator light on the top of the battery is red during charging. When full charge is reached, the light on the side of the charger glows blue.
- In flashlight or headlamp: the battery can also be charged in rechargeable flashlights and headlamps. It can thus be used as a spare battery for headlamps HM50R V2.0, HM51R V2.0 and flashlights E18R and LD15R.
- In a conventional Li-ion battery charger
