The Fenix 18650 4000 mAh rechargeable batteries with USB-C connector (ARB-L18-4000U) with protected electronics deliver the highest real capacity on the market. Li-ion rechargeable batteries are characterized by very high capacity, do not suffer from memory effect or self-discharge. Li-ion in the 18650 size are the best choice in terms of stored energy due to the size and weight of the battery.
The battery can be charged by connecting the cable to the integrated USB-C connector (e.g. from a computer or mobile phone charger), in a flashlight equipped with a USB connector or in a charger that can accommodate Li-ion batteries with a length of 72 millimeters.
Be warned, this battery is about 72 millimeters long due to the added USB-C charging connector, making it significantly longer than the regular 18650 Li-ion type. It will therefore only fit in some flashlights, headlamps and chargers. The Fenix battery protection consists of internal safety mechanisms and protective electronics. Added electronic circuits prevent the cell from overcharging, over-discharging and against short circuit or over-current draw. If the battery electronics assess that the limits have been reached, they safely disconnect the cell.
Internal protection consists of a separator, over-temperature protection (PTC thermal protection) and a special anti-blast valve. In the event that the gas pressure in the cell exceeds a certain limit, the internal separator separates the electrodes inside the battery and thus de-facto interrupts the exothermic reaction and the anti-blast valve releases the excess gas pressure outside the battery. The combination of electronic and mechanical (temperature and pressure) protection makes Fenix batteries one of the safest Li-ion batteries available.

Charge via USB-C connector
Plug the USB cable into the USB-C connector on the side, during charging the indicator light on the top of the battery pack is red. When the battery reaches full charge, the light turns blue. When using a USB power supply with a current of 1500 mA or higher, the charging time is approximately 2.5 hours.
